17 Consecutive years, 2085 reconstructive Plastic Surgeries Free of Costs:-
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Camp is being organized at Mahatma Gandhi Tribal Hospital run by MAHAN Melghat over last 17 years, since 2008 under guidance of renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Dilip Gahankari-MCH.
Till date 2085 Surgeries worth Crores of rupees are carried out free of cost.
It covers post-burn contractures affecting the neck and arms to oral cavity cancers, breast tumors, parotid tumors, cleft lip and palate repairs, goiters, hernias, superficial lumps, and lymphadenopathies
This year it was held from 20th to 24th Dec 2025. Total 138 surgeries are carried out by team of experts from outside & various parts of India.
The camp wasn't just about physical transformations; it was about healing hearts burdened by the weight of poverty and despair. Witnessing patients regain their confidence, functionality, and joy after surgeries instilled hope not only in their lives but also in the hearts of everyone involved. The majority of those treated were impoverished tribals, grappling with extensive burn contractures, cancer, and disability, their aspirations hampered by the harsh constraints of poverty. The camp emerged as a beacon of hope, offering not just medical interventions but a lifeline to those who had long endured silent battles against their own bodies
We are thankful to all those who supported this cause in person/ directly/ indirectly/ or in any manner.
